The most common style of bunk beds for kids has two mattresses the same size stacked directly over each other. A twin bunk bed is very similar to the standard one except the bottom mattress is full sized while the upper one is a twin size. A huge advantage  of bunk beds is that they allow more space for beautiful matching white bedroom furniture items. Now these bunk beds come in all different shapes and sizes.

The futon bed is also like a normal bunk except the lower mattress will be a futon Western style house that can convert into a bed instead of a normal mattress. Futon bunks are often used to save additional space in small rooms and apartments because the lower part of the bed can convert into a couch that can be used throughout the day. Futon bunks are also brilliant for saving space for something different like bean bag chairs for kids.

An L shaped bunk has a structure in the shape of an L for both the top and bottom bunk. This shape makes a small alcove where a bookshelf or desk can be place. This style of bed is larger than the others, but it is far more stylish and suits the room shape better. Childrens bunk beds are the same as a standard bunk, but they are usually a little smaller. Most kids bunk beds are made from wood or another child-friendly material. It is unlikely to find metal bunk beds made for kids bedroom furniture.

Bunk loft beds have only a top bunk, which creates an open space on the bottom which can be used for drawers, chests, or even a working area. This makes loft beds an extremely efficient way to use small spaces by using a vertical area that would otherwise remain unused. However, these beds can only fit one person and are not suitable if two people need to sleep in the room.

Some loft beds have trundle or stowable beds to hold multiple people while still keeping the capability to hold drawers and workstations. These beds are more expensive than normal bunks, especially if they contain built in storage capacity.

Of course what this all means is that you will have more space for your children’s white bedroom furniture such as drawers, tables and cupboards so start planning that bedroom now!
